You need one unit for each Jabsco Pumpgard in-line strainer that services your toilets. Usually, one strainer services one pump that services one toilet. However, sometimes one strainer services two pumps. For example, the Leopard 46 has four toilets served by two strainers - in that case, you would need two units.

We realize that a fresh water flush system can also have an odor problem, though nothing as bad as a seawater system.
Our concern has always been the possibility that the chlorine could leach back into the potable water. If you boat mechanic can confirm that this is not at all possible, then it should be alright to use in your fresh water system.
